RICHER HAVING HIS SAY
Stanley Cup veteran making a comeback
Stephane Richer is no stranger to the NHL ice. With over 980 regular season games
under his belt, he has more experience in the league than anyone invited to training
camp this season. Still, it is a bit of a surprise to see him in the Pens black and
gold.
Richer sat out last year after leaving the Washington Capitals training camp after
just one day. He returned to his native Quebec and suited up against retired greats
instead of contemporary skaters.
”Last year I was playing with some old-timers,” he said earlier this week from the
Pens’ Southpointe location. “It’s nice to be back with the real guys…I’m really enjoying
it.”

Penguins to Donate Money from Remaining Tickets Sales for Pre-season Games to Disaster
Relief Funds
The Pittsburgh Penguins today announced they will donate all money from remaining
ticket sales for their two home preseason games to disaster relief funds in New York
City, Washington D.C. and Somerset County, Pa. - sites of the recent terrorist attacks
and crashes.
Approximately 3,000 tickets remain for each of the Penguins' two home preseason games
- Monday, Sept. 24 vs. Atlanta and Saturday, Sept. 29 vs. Columbus. Both games will
be played at 7:30 p.m. at Mellon Arena.
All remaining tickets will cost \$20. Seats will be assigned on a first come, first
served basis.
"All across America, people are looking for ways to contribute in the aftermath of
these attacks - and we just think this is one of the ways we can help," said Tom
Rooney, president of Team Lemieux LLC. "We all feel for the victims and their families."
Tickets are available at the Mellon Arena Gate One Box Office and all TicketMaster
locations. Tickets also are available by phone at 412-323-1919, or by logging on

Tragedy Hits the Hockey World
Community Mourns
The Pittsburgh Penguins extend their deepest sympathies to the families and friends
of all the victims of yesterday’s tragic events. The hockey world today mourns the
loss of two of its brethren, Garnet “Ace” Bailey and Mark Bavis, both scouts for
the Los Angeles Kings. Bailey and Bavis were both passengers on United Airlines Flight
175, which collided with the World Trade Center in New York City.
