ABOUT ME!

I grew up in Oakmont, on a block that  I like to think was  the coolest  in town!  We had so many kids on the block when I grew up there.  We would pickup games of wiffleball and football, usually at my encouragement and pressure.  Usually wiffleball was what I would try to get everyone playing first, then football.    We did more than play sports, the usual other stuff like swimming. And from time to time would have a big layoff from sports stuff, because they had to keep my competitive side in check.  I guess I would have to say, my competitive edge back then could be described as “unhealthy.”

I use to walk on braces and crutches and even tried to ride a skateboard once, and well that turned out to be a disaster.  I scratched my friend’s skateboard up and pulled my back out bad.  Needless to say, that was the last time I tried a stunt like that, or atleast that stunt.

I went to Riverview High School.   I was voted most school spirit and I guess that pride still is with me because I still go to a lot of school functions and sporting events.  Especially football.  My dad has been the head coach for 15 years.  My proudest moments of the school, was when I was in school, the baseball team won the state championship.  Then in ’97 the football team won the wpial district seven championship. Now you may be wondering, if my “unhealthy” competitive side shows up as a fan now.  Welllllllll, I have to admit, the beast does awaken once in a while especially in rival games or playoff games.  I have a friend that comes to football games to sit with me just to get a laugh at how I heckle the other team’s players and fans, because I try to do it in a humorous way.  And she always gets a good laugh I’ll tell ya’.   Hey, I try to keep it in check, that’s why I listen to heavy metal and get most of the aggression out.

Etc.

I have had quite a few nicknames over the years too, a few are:

  • Capp (pretty obvious)
  • Snake™ (condensed from Jake the snake)
  • CappaCapp
  • Handycapp (my fave since it’s a play with words and my last name)
  • J.C. (another obvious one)
  • Hippie
  • Metalhead

And then there's a couple combination nicknames:

  • Like Hippie and Snake for HippieSnake.
  • Then there's Metalhead and Snake for of course MetalheadSnake.
  • And lastly, there's MetalheadHippie.
  • And don't let me forget the big combo, MetalheadHippieSnake.

Actually, I don't really have alllllll those nicknames, I just thought it would be funny to combine and make up some.
